I took up photography
at the age of 15 in April 2002, following my mate Christian Iddon's
First supermoto race. The photos from that day are framed on the
wall in the Iddon household, I have certainly come along
way since then!!!
The following years
saw me attending as many races as possible, and I began to sell a
few photos here and there. With Christian increasing in profile I
started to increase my exposure with sponsors and magazine's
requesting images.
At the beginning of
2007, I was approached by the editor of Supermoto Magazine who
offered me a freelance position supplying the magazine with images,
this then lead onto writing racing reports for both British and
World Championship Events.
Moving onto 2008 after
the demise of Supermoto Magazine, the editor Dave Cornish created a
new venture with Wynn Connell, Supermoto International Magazine. I
was appointed Sports Editor continuing my photography and
journalistic skills. I also took on the role of the Photographer for
the British Supermoto Championship.
2009 saw the credit
crunch hit all photography, the british supermoto championship
decided to remove the role of an official photographer, Luckily I
gained Team MotoSupplies Silicone Engineering whom i would provide
photos for Press Releases, Promotional work and web site photos.
I also continued my role
as sports editor for Supermoto International covering British and
European Events. I also decided to help with sponsorship for a young
rider Malachi-Mitchell Thomas, With photos helping to raise his
profile and also small financial help. Malachi has now signed for
Team
MotoSupplies Silicone
Engineering Husqvarna team to debut the XC 250 X-Lite in the
British and European Supermoto Championships. My logo is also
carried on National Championship contender Ben Kirkman's MWR prepared Honda
CRF450.
2010 saw me working for Silicone Engineering, as well as Ben
Kirkman and Skyzone Racing. I continued my work for Supermoto
International in my role as Sports Editor. I also worked with Reel
to Real who were filming the 2010 British Supermoto Series, my
images being used for the press releases and on the DVD covers. I
also become involved with Supermoto Online with American Supermoto
Fanatic Dennis Anderson and European based Supermoto
Central.
For 2011 i have agreed with Silicone Honda Racing to contiune
to be the teams official photographer, concerntrating on the FIM
Supermoto World Championship. I will also contiune to work with
Supermoto Online and Supermoto Central to provide content for the
websites. Away from supermoto i'll be trying to fit as many British
Superbike Rounds in as possible.
2012 will see me increase my invlovement with
Drifting and the Drift One run events at Buxton Raceway. This will
make up the majority of my for this year. I also plan to fit as many
British Supermoto Championship Rounds as possible and a selected
number of British Superbike Rounds. I will contiune to work on
behalf of Christian Iddon providing Race Reports for the Buxton
Advertiser, working with fellow photographer Glynne Lewis who in
2011 provided me with top quality photos for the reports. I will
continue to provide content for American Based Supermoto Online and
European Based Supermoto Central.
